Bart Tumbo vs Kieran Ngeny

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Nairobi promoted show at Uhuru Basketball Court, Nairobi,  taking place on 17/09/2022:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Eastern African Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Bart Tumbo (9(2) - 0 - 1) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Kieran Ngeny(8 - 4) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Both Tumbo and Ngeny weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jay Butita, and the three ringside judges are Okoth Githae, Haider Ben and Adam Aggett.  

Round 1: 

Tumbo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Tumbo holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Tumbo pushes his forearm into Ngeny's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Tumbo about fouling.  
Tumbo lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Tumbo manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Tumbo lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Tumbo clinches his opponent.  Tumbo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Tumbo steps inside.  Ngeny throws a left hook, but Tumbo clinches his opponent.  Tumbo leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ngeny throws a left hook, but Tumbo holds on to his opponent.  Tumbo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Tumbo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Tumbo lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Tumbo clinches his opponent.  Tumbo throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Tumbo steps inside and walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Tumbo pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Tumbo digs in a firm right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Tumbo digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Tumbo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Tumbo holds on to his opponent.  Tumbo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Tumbo lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  As Tumbo tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ngeny dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Tumbo lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tumbo pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tumbo manouvers Ngeny into a corner.  Tumbo lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Tumbo lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Tumbo lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Tumbo digs in a firm left hook to Ngeny's ribs.  
Ngeny throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Tumbo advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND NGENY IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Tumbo drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Tumbo digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tumbo lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Tumbo is looking to force the stoppage!  Tumbo lands a right uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body, AND SENDS NGENY TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Ngeny has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Tumbo sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ngeny throws a left hook, but Tumbo clinches his opponent.  Tumbo uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ngeny behind the head. The referee warns Tumbo and breaks the clinch.  
Tumbo closes the distance and digs in a solid right hook to Ngeny's body.  
Tumbo advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ngeny's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Ngeny's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Ngeny's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Tumbo walks Ngeny onto the ropes.  Tumbo connects with a right uppercut.  
Ngeny throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Tumbo lands two straights to the body, and one to the head.  
Tumbo lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Tumbo closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.

Tumbo stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Tumbo drives a powerful right hook into Ngeny's body.  NGENY IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  Ngeny now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Tumbo advances into close range and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!
