Jasper Lekimeju vs George Nzenze

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Mombasa promoted show at Mombasa Nyambane, Mombasa,  taking place on 24/09/2022:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Kenya Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jasper Lekimeju (8 - 3 - 2) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and George Nzenze(8 - 0) from Mombasa, Kenya.  Both Lekimeju and Nzenze weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Connor Kamau, and the three ringside judges are Hayden Sakudao, Hassan Badini and Joey Keino.  

Round 1: 

Nzenze closes the distance and throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Nzenze clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Lekimeju pushes his forearm into Nzenze's face.  The referee warns Lekimeju and breaks the clinch.
