Banji Sobukwe vs Richard Nzedinga

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-KwaZulu-Natal promoted show at Uzoma Adade Gym, Durban,  taking place on 30/11/2022:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the South Africa Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Banji Sobukwe (10 - 1) who hails from Soweto, South Africa and Richard Nzedinga(5 - 3(1) - 1) from Durban, South Africa.  Both Sobukwe and Nzedinga weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Louis Muamba, and the three ringside judges are Brad Van Blerk, Thamsanqa Mbeki and Lehlohonolo Cardoso.  

Round 1: 

Nzedinga throws a right hook, but Sobukwe holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Sobukwe pushes his forearm into Nzedinga's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Sobukwe sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Sobukwe is on target with a solid left hook to Nzedinga's body.  Sobukwe ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Sobukwe pushes his forearm into Nzedinga's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Sobukwe about fouling.  
Nzedinga gets on the inside.  Sobukwe lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nzedinga's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Nzedinga's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Nzedinga's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Sobukwe walks Nzedinga down, trapping him on the ropes.  Sobukwe pivots to the left of his opponent.  Sobukwe lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Sobukwe ties up his opponent.  Sobukwe hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Nzedinga quickly recovers.

Sobukwe lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Sobukwe lands a firm cross.  
Sobukwe lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Sobukwe gets on the inside.  Sobukwe is on target with a right hook to Nzedinga's body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Nzedinga.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
