Ian Clanahan vs Robert Innes

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Auckland promoted show at Ian Simrell Gym, Auckland,  taking place on 01/12/2022:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ian Clanahan (9 - 1) who hails from Waitakere, New Zealand and Robert Innes(6 - 7 - 1) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Clanahan weighed in at 139 pounds and 8 ounces, while Innes weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Kinzey, and the three ringside judges are Rob Horsburgh, Louis Paipa and Harvey Dorch.  

Round 1: 

Clanahan advances into close range.  Innes throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Clanahan holds on to his opponent.  Clanahan pushes his forearm into Innes's face.  The ref breaks Clanahan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Clanahan gets on the inside and drives a stinging left hook into Innes's liver.

Clanahan steps inside and tries to land a right hook, but Innes blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Innes pivots to the side of his opponent.  Innes is on target with a left hook to Clanahan's body.  Clanahan clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Innes pushes his forearm into Clanahan's face.  The referee warns Innes and breaks the clinch.  
Clanahan gets on the inside and is on target with a left uppercut to Innes's body.  Clanahan holds on to his opponent.  Clanahan pushes his forearm into Innes's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Innes steps away from his opponent.  Clanahan hits home with a cross.

Clanahan closes the distance.  Clanahan lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  As Clanahan tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Innes dabs at his face checking for damage.
