Qalqandar Geidarov vs Yaqub Khalaf

Boxing Daily Report from the Zungu Promotions promoted show at Samarqand Memishov, Samarqand,  taking place on 02/01/2023:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Uzbekistan-Samarqand Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Qalqandar Geidarov (5 - 4 - 1) who hails from Samarqand, Uzbekistan and Yaqub Khalaf(7 - 3 - 2) from Samarqand, Uzbekistan.  Both Geidarov and Khalaf weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Boris Rafiev, and the three ringside judges are Mirza Khawaja, Sabuhi Mazari and Ramiz Djangirov.  

Round 1: 

Khalaf connects with a left uppercut.

As Geidarov tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Khalaf has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.
