Mehmet Vardar vs Kiril á Kushkov

Boxing Daily Report from the Ako Promotions promoted show at Bogdan á Lobankov Gym, Sofia,  taking place on 15/01/2023:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Bulgaria-Sofia Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mehmet Vardar (6 - 5 - 2) who hails from Sofia, Bulgaria and Kiril á Kushkov(7 - 3 - 2) from Sofia, Bulgaria.  Both Vardar and Kushkov weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stoyan á Sokolov, and the three ringside judges are Nikolai á Lilov, Veselin á Navkov and Yakov á Kanokov.  

Round 1: 

Kushkov is on target with a left uppercut.  
Vardar advances into close range.  Kushkov lands a right hook.  
Kushkov tries to step out of his opponents range.  Vardar feints a right, and then is on target with a jab.  
Vardar advances into close range.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Vardar dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Vardar.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
