Quinto Zermeno vs Alejandro Mazo

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Philippines-NCR promoted show at Ovidio Rodriguez Gym, Quezon City,  taking place on 28/04/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Philippines-NCR Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Quinto Zermeno (5 - 3 - 2) who hails from Pasig, Philippines and Alejandro Mazo(4 - 2 - 1) from Quezon City, Philippines.  Zermeno weighed in at 125 pounds And 6 ounces, while Mazo weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ramirez Dimapasoc, and the three ringside judges are Rico Agngarayngay, Gabriel Pagtakhan and Juan Pangilinan.  

Round 1: 

Mazo lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Zermeno closes the distance.  Mazo hits home with a left hook.

Mazo voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Zermeno accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Mazo.

Zermeno steps inside.  Zermeno quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Mazo has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Zermeno gets on the inside and drives a left uppercut into Mazo's liver.  Zermeno attempts to land a right hook, but Mazo sidesteps and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Mazo's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Mazo's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
