Shaun Briden vs Barry Crary

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Colorado promoted show at Alen Girvin Gym, Denver,  taking place on 15/05/2023:

Clearly AI USA-Colorado have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Mountain West Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Shaun Briden (7 - 4 - 2) who hails from Colorado Springs, USA and Barry Crary(7 - 2) from Colorado Springs, USA.  Briden weighed in at 129 pounds and 7 ounces, while Crary weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is William Mutch, and the three ringside judges are Ben Paton, Oliver Everett and Lewis Fergeson.  

Round 1: 

Crary steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Briden on the ropes.  Crary lands a right hook.  
Briden lands a cross.  
Briden tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a cross, but Crary slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Briden feints a cross, but Crary is not fooled and is on target with a right hook.  
Briden hits home with a cross.  
Crary sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Crary lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Crary lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Crary holds on to his opponent.  Crary leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Crary pushes his forearm into Briden's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Crary tries to keep the action at long range and lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Crary is looking to close the distance.  Briden tries to land a right hook, but Crary dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Crary quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Crary lands with a stinging jab.  
Crary closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Crary steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Briden attempts to land a jab, but Crary blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook to Briden's body.  
Crary steps inside and manouvers Briden into the red corner.  Crary lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  As Briden tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Crary dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Crary.  That has caused a slight cut .  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Briden's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Briden's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
