Matt Yegon vs Davie Melly

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Kiambu promoted show at Quadrees Magwanga Gym, Kikuyu,  taking place on 03/07/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Kenya Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Matt Yegon (10 - 2 - 3) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Davie Melly(9 - 0 - 1) from Ruiru, Kenya.  Yegon weighed in at 199 pounds and 13 ounces, while Melly weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jay Karanja, and the three ringside judges are Max Arita, Adam Aggett and Mark Kamande.  

Round 1: 

Melly is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.
