Bryan Lockerby vs Peter Pirie

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-Victoria promoted show at Ian McAllister Gym, Melbourne,  taking place on 05/07/2023:

Clearly AI Australia-Victoria have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Bryan Lockerby (1 - 8 - 3) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Peter Pirie(2 - 1 - 3) from Melbourne, Australia.  Lockerby weighed in at 139 pounds And 15 ounces, while Pirie weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Elias, and the three ringside judges are Andy Wright, Ricky Gebbie and Jake Denniston.  

Round 1: 

Pirie is on target with a right hook.  
Lockerby tries to land a cross, but Pirie blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Pirie advances into close range.  Lockerby digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Pirie gets on the inside.  Lockerby lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pirie pivots to the side of his opponent.  Pirie throws a right hook, but Lockerby clinches his opponent.  Pirie is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Pirie to stop fouling.  
Pirie gets on the inside and walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Lockerby is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Pirie finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lockerby's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Pirie's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

Pirie is looking to close the distance.  Lockerby is on target with a right hook.  Pirie wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lockerby dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Lockerby.  That has caused a nasty cut  the right eye.  .
