Gareth Mbiyu vs Amon Kiongo

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Kisumu promoted show at Kisumu Loloupe, Kisumu,  taking place on 25/07/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Kenya Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Gareth Mbiyu (12 - 2) who hails from Kisumu, Kenya and Amon Kiongo(11 - 0) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Mbiyu weighed in at 167 pounds and 10 ounces, while Kiongo weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mick Mutu, and the three ringside judges are David Macgoye, Udenwa Lalang and Peter Kirui.
