Giuseppe Giovinco vs Alfredo Buccico

Boxing Daily Report from the Gyan Promotions promoted show at Antonio Schettini Gym, Messina,  taking place on 22/08/2023:

Clearly Gyan Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Italy-Sicily Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Giuseppe Giovinco (12 - 4 - 1) who hails from Palermo, Italy and Alfredo Buccico(8 - 4 - 5) from Messina, Italy.  Giovinco weighed in at 230 pounds and 5 ounces, while Buccico weighed in at 254 pounds and 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mario Battaglia, and the three ringside judges are Arturo Bongiorno, Giorgio Lamberti and Claudio Pasqual.  

Round 1: 

Giovinco steps to the outside and connects with an overhand right.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Buccico.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
