Ryuu Koike vs Isamu Sugawara

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Tokyo promoted show at Dai Tano Gym, Tokyo,  taking place on 01/09/2023:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ryuu Koike (5 - 1 - 3) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Isamu Sugawara(2 - 0 - 1) from Machida, Japan.  Both Koike and Sugawara weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hiroki Amaya, and the three ringside judges are Yuichi Abe, Hisao Hatanaka and Kazuhiko Nakano.  

Round 1: 

Koike sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Koike throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
