Ben Phillipa vs Max Lai

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Nairobi promoted show at Nairobi Lavatsa, Nairobi,  taking place on 13/09/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Eastern African Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ben Phillipa (7 - 5(1) - 1) who hails from Kampala, Uganda and Max Lai(12 - 1) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Phillipa weighed in at 154 pounds, while Lai weighed in at 153 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is LeBron Naikuni, and the three ringside judges are Rob Birdi, Kyrone Koimbori and Sam Waiyaki.  

Round 1: 

Lai is looking to close the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.
