Juan Fortun vs Selestino Placido

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Honduras-Francisco Morazan promoted show at Tegucigalpa Nova, Tegucigalpa,  taking place on 21/09/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Honduras Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Todo Deportes TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Juan Fortun (7 - 6 - 2) who hails from Tegucigalpa, Honduras and Selestino Placido(8(5) - 2) from Choloma, Honduras.  Fortun weighed in at 199 pounds and 11 ounces, while Placido weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Diego Montilla, and the three ringside judges are Cuba Barrio, Nicandro Borgo and Hilario Bonito.  

Round 1: 

Placido advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Placido lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Placido clinches his opponent.  Fortun is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Placido pushes his forearm into Fortun's face.  The ref breaks Placido's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Placido quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Placido advances into close range.  Fortun hits home with a right hook.  
Fortun tries to land a jab, but Placido sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Fortun tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a jab, but Placido slips the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Placido lands a ramrod jab.  
Placido steps inside and manouvers Fortun onto the ropes.  Placido pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Placido drives a left hook into Fortun's body.  
Fortun attempts to land a jab, but Placido sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Fortun tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross.  
Fortun lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Fortun is on target with a cross.  
Placido advances into close range.  Placido sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Placido digs in a left uppercut to Fortun's body.  
Placido pivots from in front of his opponent.  Placido throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Placido clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Placido pushes his forearm into Fortun's face.  The ref breaks Placido's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Fortun switches the action to the outside.  Fortun quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Placido hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Placido steps inside and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Placido lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fortun gets on the inside.  Placido is on target with a stinging left hook to Fortun's body.  Placido holds on to his opponent.  Placido uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Fortun's kidney. Placido pushes his forearm into Fortun's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Placido.  
Placido gets on the inside.  Placido sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.

Fortun steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Placido blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Placido steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Fortun steps inside.  Placido lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Placido lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head, AND SENDS FORTUN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 6.  Fortun almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Placido is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Fortun steps to the outside and tries to land a cross, but Placido dodges the shot and counters with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Placido steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Fortun's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Fortun's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
