Jake Pierce vs Lewis Blakely

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Wellington promoted show at Taita Sport & Community Centre, Wellington,  taking place on 13/11/2023:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Oceania Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jake Pierce (10 - 4) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Lewis Blakely(7 - 6 - 1) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Pierce and Blakely weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oliver Murray, and the three ringside judges are Barry Ramage, Mel Binner and Mark Dew.  

Round 1: 

Pierce closes the distance.  Pierce pivots to the left of his opponent.  Pierce connects with a solid left hook.  Pierce clinches his opponent.  Pierce is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Pierce closes the distance.  Blakely throws a right uppercut, but Pierce clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Pierce pushes his forearm into Blakely's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Pierce to stop fouling.  
Pierce is on target with a right hook.  Pierce attempts to land a cross, but Blakely sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Pierce lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Pierce holds on to his opponent.  Pierce is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Blakely pushes his forearm into Pierce's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

As Blakely tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Pierce dabs at his face checking for damage.
