Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Gold Gym, Brisbane,  taking place on 04/11/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are John McBryde (0 - 0) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Mark Couden(1 - 0) from Perth, Australia.  Both McBryde and Couden weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Francesco Ghiglia, and the three ringside judges are Giorgio Lombardo, Mark Elgin and Hugh Durie.  

Round 1: 

Couden pivots to the side of his opponent.  McBryde hits home with a left hook.  
McBryde gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents body.

Couden throws a right hook, but McBryde ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, McBryde pushes his forearm into Couden's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns McBryde to stop fouling.  
McBryde hits home with a right hook.  McBryde holds on to his opponent.  McBryde leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Couden switches the action to the outside.  McBryde is on target with a hard jab.  
McBryde is looking to close the distance and manouvers Couden onto the ropes.  McBryde lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  McBryde holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks McBryde's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McBryde lands a straight 1 - 2.  
McBryde hits home with a left hook.  
McBryde drives a left hook into Couden's body.  
McBryde pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Couden's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Couden's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Couden's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McBryde advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.

McBryde walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  McBryde drives a left hook into Couden's ribs.  
McBryde lands a right hook, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.
