John Chronis vs Andy Pugh

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Peaks Ice Arena, Provo,  taking place on 09/12/2023:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Mountain West Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Chronis (13 - 3) who hails from Salt Lake City, USA and Andy Pugh(8 - 0) from Provo, USA.  Chronis weighed in at 247 pounds and 10 ounces, while Pugh weighed in at 239 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Lucas Magorian, and the three ringside judges are Rhod Gubay, Jordan Burke and John Egerton.  

Round 1: 

Chronis steps to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Pugh is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Chronis attempts to land a right uppercut, but Pugh parries the shot and counters with a right hook.

Pugh forces Chronis to back into the ropes.  Chronis lands a jab.
