Karl Laidlaw vs Neil Sam

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Copper Box Arena, London,  taking place on 23/12/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Karl Laidlaw (14(10) - 1(1)) who hails from Galway, Ireland and Neil Sam(11 - 1(1) - 1) from Accra, Ghana.  Both Laidlaw and Sam weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clint Irvine, and the three ringside judges are Paul Hector, Richie Harp and Owen Pugh.  

Round 1: 

Sam steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Sam voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Laidlaw is whaling away with hooks, but Sam keeps his defence tight.  Laidlaw lands a cross.

Laidlaw steps to the outside.  Sam is on target with a cross.  
Laidlaw attempts to land an overhand left, but Sam slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Laidlaw steps to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Laidlaw digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Laidlaw lands a jab to the body, an overhand right to the head and a jab to the head.  Laidlaw throws an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
