Ryo Mieras vs Mason McColm

Boxing Daily Report from the MCK MARBELLA promoted show at Igor Allikas Gym, Riga,  taking place on 27/01/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ryo Mieras (3 - 0) who hails from Barcelona, Spain and Mason McColm(8 - 6 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Mieras and McColm weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Vasili Bogdans, and the three ringside judges are Fadei Zvaigznite, Vikenti Zilite and Pyotr Rutitis.  

Round 1: 

Mieras gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mieras feints a left hook, and then lands a jab.  
Mieras steps inside and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mieras lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Mieras feints a jab and triggers a left uppercut counter from McColm.  Mieras springs the trap and counters with  a right hook.

Mieras pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to McColm's body.  
Mieras lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Mieras gets on the inside and lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
McColm drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Mieras advances into close range and walks McColm down, trapping him in the corner.  Mieras lands a right hook.  Mieras clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mieras pushes his forearm into McColm's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mieras to stop fouling.

Mieras hits home with a right hook.  
McColm throws a left hook, but Mieras clinches his opponent.  Mieras is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Mieras's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McColm's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McColm's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McColm's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
