Diego Datoc vs Carlos Rengel

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Philippines-Cebu promoted show at Lapu-Lapu Noa, Lapu-Lapu,  taking place on 09/12/2023:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Diego Datoc (1 - 0) who hails from Batangas City, Philippines and Carlos Rengel(1 - 0) from General Trias, Philippines.  Datoc weighed in at 122 pounds, while Rengel weighed in at 121 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Nemesio Baclig, and the three ringside judges are Porfio Lumawig, Fausto Godoy and Federico Olan.

Datoc waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Rengel lands a cross to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Datoc lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Datoc attempts to land a cross, but Rengel slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Datoc gets on the inside.  Rengel throws a right hook, but Datoc clinches his opponent.  Rengel tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Datoc's kidney. 
Datoc is looking to close the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Datoc feints a right hook, and then lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Datoc advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Datoc pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Rengel throws a left hook, but Datoc ties up his opponent.  Datoc leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Rengel is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Datoc tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Rengel behind the head. Datoc throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Datoc sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Datoc lands a right uppercut.  Datoc holds on to his opponent.  Datoc leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Datoc uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Rengel behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.
