Brandon Monaghan vs Nathan MacCarthy

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at National Basket Ball Arena, Dublin,  taking place on 23/12/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Celtic Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brandon Monaghan (7 - 4 - 4) who hails from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland and Nathan MacCarthy(7 - 6 - 1) from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.  Both Monaghan and MacCarthy weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joshua MacCarthy, and the three ringside judges are Rory Finnegan, Nathan Rafferty and Shane MacNevin.  

Round 1: 

MacCarthy hits home with a left uppercut.  
MacCarthy lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Monaghan cuts off the ring, trapping MacCarthy in a neutral corner.  Monaghan lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  MacCarthy drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Monaghan's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Monaghan's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  MacCarthy's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
