Richard Lawgoch vs Mark Janda

Boxing Daily Report from the John Green promoted show at Matthew Hatt Gym, Bolton,  taking place on 05/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Richard Lawgoch (1 - 0) who hails from Cardiff, UK and Mark Janda(0 - 0 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Lawgoch and Janda weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Nathan Still, and the three ringside judges are James Brys, Kai Comrie and Iain Clark.  

Round 1: 

Lawgoch advances into close range.  Lawgoch pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Janda's body.  
Lawgoch gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Lawgoch clinches his opponent.  Lawgoch is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Janda is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Lawgoch sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Janda is on target with a cross.  
Lawgoch gets on the inside.  Lawgoch pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Lawgoch lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Lawgoch manouvers Janda into the blue corner.  Janda is on target with a right hook.  
Lawgoch pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to the head, a left hook to the head and a cross to the body.  
Lawgoch is looking to close the distance.  Lawgoch pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Lawgoch hits home with a cross.  Lawgoch tries to land a jab, but Janda slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Lawgoch attempts to land a jab, but Janda sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Janda's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Lawgoch gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Lawgoch feints a right hook, and then lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Lawgoch is looking to close the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Lawgoch is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Lawgoch holds on to his opponent.  Lawgoch leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Lawgoch lands a jab.  
Lawgoch steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Lawgoch closes the distance and manages to force Janda into a corner.  Lawgoch lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Lawgoch wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Janda dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Lawgoch lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Lawgoch holds on to his opponent.  Lawgoch pushes his forearm into Janda's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lawgoch to stop fouling.  
Lawgoch hits home with a left hook.  
Lawgoch connects with a cross.  
Janda tries to step out of his opponents range.  Lawgoch feints a left hook, and then lands an overhand left to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Lawgoch lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Lawgoch advances into close range and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the punch.  Lawgoch clinches his opponent.  Lawgoch uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Janda behind the head. 
Janda lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Lawgoch's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win. Janda's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Janda's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Lawgoch steps inside and connects with a right uppercut.
