Quaddus Kaunda vs Quashawn Obaid

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Kasarani indoor arena, Nairobi,  taking place on 02/12/2023:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Quaddus Kaunda (0 - 0) who hails from Lusaka, Zambia and Quashawn Obaid(0 - 2 - 3) from Kisumu, Kenya.  Both Kaunda and Obaid weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Billy Tumbo, and the three ringside judges are Shaun Chelangat, Matt Kanyoro and Matt Kanyoro.  

Round 1: 

Obaid is looking to close the distance.  Kaunda lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kaunda sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a sharp right hook into his opponents body.  
Kaunda walks Obaid into a corner.  Kaunda drives a firm right uppercut into Obaid's body.  
Kaunda advances into close range.  Kaunda sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kaunda drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Kaunda clinches his opponent.  Kaunda is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kaunda.  
Kaunda lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kaunda pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Kaunda advances into close range and lands a stinging left hook.  Kaunda clinches his opponent.  Kaunda uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Obaid behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kaunda forces Obaid to retreat into a corner.  Kaunda lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Kaunda lands a jab.  
Kaunda pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Obaid dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kaunda lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Obaid throws a right hook, but Kaunda clinches his opponent.  Kaunda leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Kaunda's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kaunda hits home with a right hook.  Kaunda ties up his opponent.  Kaunda leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Obaid's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Obaid's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Kaunda digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kaunda closes the distance.  Obaid lands a right uppercut.  
Kaunda finds the target with a stinging jab.  
Kaunda lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kaunda dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kaunda hits home with a right hook.  Kaunda holds on to his opponent.  Kaunda is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
