Dale Kelly vs Ian Jones

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at Irish Centre, Leeds,  taking place on 30/12/2023:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Dale Kelly (0 - 0) who hails from Northampton, UK and Ian Jones(0 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Kelly and Jones weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kai Comrie, and the three ringside judges are James McCarthy, Matt Ryan and Robert Couper.  

Round 1: 

Kelly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Kelly steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Kelly sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kelly drives a left uppercut into Jones's body.  Kelly throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Kelly sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Kelly advances into close range and walks his opponent into the corner.  Kelly is on target with a left uppercut.  
Jones steps to the outside.  Kelly sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Kelly closes the distance.  Kelly sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kelly throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Kelly sidesteps to the right of his opponent andAs the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Jones dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Jones.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Kelly gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kelly lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Jones gets on the inside.  Kelly lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Kelly advances into close range.  Kelly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kelly lands a right hook.  Kelly attempts to land a left hook, but Jones blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Jones switches the action to the outside.  Kelly finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Jones's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Jones's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Jones's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Jones's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Kelly steps inside.  Kelly pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Kelly sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Jones is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Kelly lands a straight 1 - 2.

Kelly sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to Jones's body.  
Kelly feints a jab, fooling Jones into throwing a left hook counter.  Kelly avoids the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Kelly tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a solid jab.  
Kelly gets on the inside.  Jones hits home with a right hook.  
Kelly steps inside.  Kelly pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.
