Turgay Arikan vs Duygu Dikmen

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Beykoz Sport Hall, Istanbul,  taking place on 13/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Turkey-Istanbul Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Turgay Arikan (9 - 3 - 1) who hails from Istanbul, Turkey and Duygu Dikmen(4 - 4 - 3) from Istanbul, Turkey.  Both Arikan and Dikmen weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gulbahar Evgar, and the three ringside judges are Tolga Basharan, Can Argeso and Iskender Akdemir.  

Round 1: 

Dikmen steps away from his opponent and lands a cross.  
Arikan steps inside and manouvers Dikmen onto the ropes.  Dikmen attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Arikan time to recover.  
Arikan is on target with a right hook to Dikmen's body.  
Dikmen finds the target with a jab.  
Dikmen tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Arikan gets on the inside.  Dikmen is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Dikmen.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
