Owen Christy vs James Verner

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Pioneer Events Center, Lancaster,  taking place on 20/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-California Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Owen Christy (8 - 3) who hails from Los Angeles, USA and James Verner(7 - 3 - 3) from Los Angeles, USA.  Both Christy and Verner weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noah Rankin, and the three ringside judges are Joey Catherwood, Nick Erskin and Blake Travis.  

Round 1: 

Verner is looking to keep his distance.  Verner waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Christy is on target with an overhand right.
