Joshua Chaparro vs Michael Mabon

Boxing Daily Report from the Magicman promoted show at Louis XVI Suite at The Waldorf-Astoria, New York City,  taking place on 03/01/2024:

Clearly Magicman have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-New York State Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joshua Chaparro (6 - 5 - 3) who hails from New York City, USA and Michael Mabon(2 - 11 - 1) from New York City, USA.  Both Chaparro and Mabon weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Neil Sneddon, and the three ringside judges are Billy Byrnes, Matthew Renwick and Mark Elley.  

Round 1: 

Mabon lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Chaparro advances into close range and hits home with a right hook.  
Mabon tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land an overhand right, but Chaparro dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Mabon switches the action to the outside.  Chaparro connects with an overhand right.  Chaparro throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Chaparro hits home with a left uppercut.  
Mabon is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Chaparro attempts to land an overhand right, but Mabon slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Chaparro's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Chaparro steps inside.  Mabon pivots to the right of his opponent.  Mabon attempts to land a right hook, but Chaparro sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mabon steps to the outside.  Chaparro connects with an overhand left.

Chaparro pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mabon finds the target with a jab.

Chaparro drives a left hook into Mabon's body.

Chaparro closes the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Chaparro dabs at his face checking for damage.  Chaparro has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
