Siphelele Mokonyane vs Shontae Letsholonyane

Boxing Daily Report from the African Fusion promoted show at Jamie Smit Gym, Johannesburg,  taking place on 18/12/2023:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Siphelele Mokonyane (1 - 1) who hails from Johannesburg, South Africa and Shontae Letsholonyane(1 - 3 - 2) from Katlehong, South Africa.  Mokonyane weighed in at 129 pounds and 15 ounces, while Letsholonyane weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Karabaja, and the three ringside judges are Uba Akamenya, Jabulani Segolela and Barry Khuzwayo.  

Round 1: 

Mokonyane lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.

Letsholonyane advances into close range.  Mokonyane lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Mokonyane has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Mokonyane lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Letsholonyane steps inside.  Mokonyane lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.
