Chris Mungle vs Max Shumway

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Texas promoted show at Houston Mungo, Houston,  taking place on 12/01/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-Texas Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Mungle (6 - 8 - 4) who hails from Houston, USA and Max Shumway(7 - 5 - 3) from Houston, USA.  Mungle weighed in at 227 pounds And 15 ounces, while Shumway weighed in at 241 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Harry Burwick, and the three ringside judges are Ian Hesson, Faisal Rasul and Chris Suit.  

Round 1: 

Shumway is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  
Mungle advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Shumway in a corner.  Mungle pivots from in front of his opponent.  As Mungle tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Shumway dabs at his face checking for damage.

Shumway tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab to Mungle's body.
