Leighton Caven vs Rob Kelley

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Gethin Nicholson Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 31/12/2023:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Leighton Caven (0 - 0 - 1) who hails from Chicago, USA and Rob Kelley(3 - 9) from Los Angeles, USA.  Both Caven and Kelley weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Nathan Langer, and the three ringside judges are Zachary Mattus, Nathan Langer and Brad Dey.  

Round 1: 

Kelley drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Caven is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  
Kelley digs in a right uppercut to Caven's body.  
Kelley closes the distance.  Kelley quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Caven is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Kelley advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kelley lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kelley steps inside.  Kelley quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Caven's liver.  
Kelley gets on the inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Caven slips the shot and counters with a right hook to Kelley's ribcage.  
Kelley lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Kelley is on target with a right uppercut.  Kelley holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Kelley's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Caven connects with a cross.  
Kelley is looking to close the distance.  Kelley goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Caven's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Kelley lands two left hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Caven gets on the inside.  Kelley connects with a left uppercut.  
Kelley gets on the inside and lands a right hook.

Caven is on target with a cross to his opponents body.  
Kelley lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Caven tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kelley hits home with a left uppercut.  
Kelley forces Caven to back into the blue corner.  Kelley is on target with a right uppercut.  
Caven steps to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Kelley walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Kelley lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kelley forces Caven to back into a corner.  Caven lands a cross.  
Kelley hits home with a cross.  
Kelley is looking to close the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kelley dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Kelley.  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.  
At the end of Round 3, lets listen in on the corners...Caven's trainer is telling his fighter he must go to war on his opponent!  Caven's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Kelley connects with a left hook.  
Kelley steps inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Kelley lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kelley connects with a right hook.  
Kelley steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Kelley lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Kelley manages to force Caven into a neutral corner.  Kelley pivots to the side of his opponent.  Caven is on target with a cross.
