Leighton Goar vs Inigo Souter

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Gold Gym, Brisbane,  taking place on 22/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on WIN, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Leighton Goar (12 - 5(2)) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Inigo Souter(6 - 3 - 4) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Goar and Souter weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Weir, and the three ringside judges are Scott Martin, Neil McAllaster and Francesco Ghiglia.  

Round 1: 

Souter advances into close range.  Goar is on target with a left uppercut to Souter's body.  
Goar sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Souter connects with a cross.

Goar tries to keep the action at long range and hits the target with a stiff jab.  
Goar is looking to close the distance.  Goar lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Souter wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Goar dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Souter attempts to land a cross, but Goar slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Souter's body.
