Sam Courau vs Angel Rivero

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Edwards Hall, Miami,  taking place on 03/02/2024:

Clearly Bos Firefighters have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sam Courau (7(2) - 0) who hails from Spokane, USA and Angel Rivero(6 - 9 - 1) from Cochabamba, Bolivia.  Both Courau and Rivero weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Hossack, and the three ringside judges are Vicente Llanas, Sam Matteson and Javier Resendiz.  

Round 1: 

Courau lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Rivero gets on the inside.  Courau lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.

Courau feints a right hook, and then hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Rivero manouvers Courau onto the ropes.  Courau finds the target with a jab.  
Courau lands a jab, left hook and a cross to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Rivero almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Courau tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with an overhand right.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Rivero's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Rivero walks Courau down, trapping him on the ropes.  Courau lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Courau ties up his opponent.  Courau leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Courau pushes his forearm into Rivero's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Rivero steps inside.  Courau pivots from in front of his opponent.  Courau lands a firm left hook.  Courau attempts to land a left hook, but Rivero slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Courau feints a left hook, and then lands a MASSIVE cross.  RIVERO IS HURT!  Rivero almost instantly gets his legs back.

Courau quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Courau tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Rivero closes the distance and walks Courau into the corner.  Courau lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Courau clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Courau pushes his forearm into Rivero's face.  The ref breaks Courau's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Courau is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Courau feints a right hook, and then lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Rivero quickly recovers. 
Rivero attempts to land a left hook, but Courau slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Rivero's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Rivero's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Rivero's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Courau lands a stinging jab.  Courau tries to land a jab, but Rivero parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Rivero steps inside.  Courau hits home with a solid left hook.  
Courau steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Rivero recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Rivero is looking to close the distance.  Courau pivots to the side of his opponent.  Courau lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Courau holds on to his opponent.  Courau uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Rivero behind the head. 
Courau steps to the outside and SLAMS a FEARSOME cross into his opponents face.  RIVERO IS DOWN!  HE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO HIS FEET AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Courau!
