Duncan Poovey vs Edward Bruce

Boxing Daily Report from the GAT Management promoted show at Phillippe Florian Gym, Gaineau,  taking place on 09/01/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Duncan Poovey (1 - 0) who hails from Toronto, Canada and Edward Bruce(1 - 4) from Toronto, Canada.  Poovey weighed in at 107 pounds and 4 ounces, while Bruce weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Mabon, and the three ringside judges are Henry Popkin, Carvell Brame and Paris Clarin.  

Round 1: 

Poovey is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Poovey holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
