Jiro Watanabe vs Mikio Aoyama

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Aichi promoted show at Kazuhiko Miura Gym, Nagoya,  taking place on 23/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky-A Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jiro Watanabe (10 - 3 - 1) who hails from Nagoya, Japan and Mikio Aoyama(9 - 5 - 1) from Chiba, Japan.  Both Watanabe and Aoyama weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Raiden Matsui, and the three ringside judges are Hiro Taketa, Satoshi Iwai and Keiichi Kobayashi.  

Round 1: 

Aoyama digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Aoyama steps inside.  Aoyama sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Aoyama tries to land a jab, but Watanabe slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
