Cody Perret vs Adolfo Gamba

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Sexy Boxing promoted show at Big Gym, Wolverhampton,  taking place on 06/01/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Cody Perret (2 - 0) who hails from Middlesbrough, UK and Adolfo Gamba(4 - 2 - 1) from Milan, Italy.  Perret weighed in at 129 pounds and 12 ounces, while Gamba weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Querry, and the three ringside judges are Chris MacGibbon, Robert Wathen and Mike Sconce.  

Round 1: 

Perret gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Perret holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Perret pushes his forearm into Gamba's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Perret lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.

Perret quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Perret manouvers Gamba into a corner.  Perret pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Perret drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Perret lands with a hard jab.  
Perret gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.

Perret lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Perret closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Perret feints a jab, but Gamba ignores the feint and lands with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gamba's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Gamba's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Perret forces Gamba to retreat into the corner.  Perret pivots from in front of his opponent.  Gamba lands a cross.  
Perret advances into close range.  Perret is on target with a sharp left hook to Gamba's ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gamba dabs at his face checking for damage.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Gamba has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
