Joshua Proffitt vs Leo Jones

Boxing Daily Report from the Hard hitting promotions promoted show at Lewis Coleman Gym, Nassau,  taking place on 10/03/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Joshua Proffitt (3 - 3) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Leo Jones(1 - 3 - 3) from Norman, USA.  Both Proffitt and Jones weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leo Fenwick, and the three ringside judges are Geoff Ways, Jack Binnie and Paul Colville.  

Round 1: 

Proffitt pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Jones hits home with a right uppercut.  Jones tries to land a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Proffitt gets on the inside.  Proffitt pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Proffitt is on target with a stinging right hook to Jones's ribcage.  
Proffitt lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.

Proffitt retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Jones steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Proffitt connects with a sharp left uppercut.  
Proffitt is on target with a firm left uppercut.  
Jones throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Jones goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Proffitt time to recover.  
Jones advances into close range.  Proffitt drives a firm left hook into Jones's body.  
Proffitt lands a left hook.  
Proffitt lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Proffitt lands a solid right hook.  As Proffitt tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Jones dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Jones pivots to the left of his opponent.  Proffitt drives a left hook into his opponents liver.

You can sense Jones is getting frustrated in there.    He throws a hook, and catches Proffitt low!  The ref halts the action and sends Proffitt to the neutral corner.    He warns Jones that he is heading for a point deduction.  
Proffitt gets on the inside and lands a firm left hook.  
Proffitt is looking to close the distance and lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Proffitt lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND JONES IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  
Jones attempts to land a right hook, but Proffitt slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Proffitt connects with a stinging left uppercut.  
Proffitt closes the distance and connects with a right hook.

Jones is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Proffitt has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Jones throws a right uppercut, but Proffitt holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Proffitt pushes his forearm into Jones's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Proffitt.  
Proffitt is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Proffitt hits home with a firm left hook.  
Jones hits home with a right uppercut.  
Proffitt lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Proffitt is looking to keep his distance.  Jones hits home with a cross.  
Jones pivots to the right of his opponent.  Proffitt lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Proffitt drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.
