Jun Sazama vs Jiro Ishibashi

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Hyogo Prefectural Cultural Gymnasium, Kobe,  taking place on 29/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Japan Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky-A Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jun Sazama (11(7) - 1(1) - 1) who hails from Kyoto, Japan and Jiro Ishibashi(8 - 3(1)) from Nagoya, Japan.  Both Sazama and Ishibashi weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michi Soma, and the three ringside judges are Keiichi Koyanagi, Kyo Maekawa and Iwao Sumida.  

Round 1: 

Ishibashi advances into close range.  Ishibashi pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ishibashi tries to land a left hook, but Sazama slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ishibashi pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Sazama is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a stiff jab.

Ishibashi advances into close range.  Sazama tries to land a right hook, but Ishibashi sidesteps and counters with a cross.

Ishibashi advances into close range.  Sazama quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ishibashi lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Sazama tries to keep the action at long range.  Ishibashi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Sazama lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Ishibashi advances into close range and attempts to land a left hook, but Sazama sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sazama connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Sazama switches the action to the outside.  Ishibashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sazama throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ishibashi is looking to close the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
Sazama throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ishibashi gets on the inside and lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Sazama tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a jab.  
Sazama is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a solid overhand left.  
Sazama lands an overhand right, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Ishibashi quickly recovers. 
Sazama attempts to land a jab, but Ishibashi slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ishibashi tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.

Ishibashi steps inside.  Sazama lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Sazama steps to the outside and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Ishibashi quickly recovers. 
Ishibashi closes the distance and forces Sazama to retreat onto the ropes.  Ishibashi pivots to the left of his opponent.  Sazama lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Sazama is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Sazama lands an overhand right followed by a overhand left to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Ishibashi almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Ishibashi attempts to land an overhand right, but Sazama slips the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Ishibashi gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Sazama is on target with a FIERCE left uppercut.  ISHIBASHI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Sazama attempts to land a left hook, but Ishibashi blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Sazama is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Sazama lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, KNOCKING ISHIBASHI DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Sazama lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  The winner by KO is Sazama!
