Darryl Zaragoza vs Patrick Carns

Boxing Daily Report from the Goose Hollow Promotions promoted show at Theater Center, Los Angeles,  taking place on 07/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-California Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Darryl Zaragoza (9(5) - 0) who hails from Rancho Cucamonga, USA and Patrick Carns(5 - 6 - 4) from Los Angeles, USA.  Both Zaragoza and Carns weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Bradley Fortun, and the three ringside judges are John Malpass, Barry Maxton and Zafa Rafiq.  

Round 1: 

Zaragoza is looking to close the distance.  Carns pivots to the right of his opponent.  Carns throws a left hook, but Zaragoza clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Zaragoza pushes his forearm into Carns's face.  The ref breaks Zaragoza's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Zaragoza lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Carns steps away from his opponent.  Zaragoza is on target with a firm cross.  
Zaragoza cuts off the ring, trapping Carns in the blue corner.  Zaragoza hits home with a left uppercut.  Zaragoza ties up his opponent.  Zaragoza pushes his forearm into Carns's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Zaragoza pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Zaragoza connects with a sharp left uppercut.  
Zaragoza lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Zaragoza connects with a cross.  
Zaragoza gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.  Zaragoza clinches his opponent.  Zaragoza leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Zaragoza pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Carns quickly recovers. 
Carns hits home with a left hook.  
Zaragoza advances into close range.  Zaragoza retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Carns tries to tag Zaragoza on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Zaragoza lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Zaragoza lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Carns quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carns throws a right hook, but Zaragoza ties up his opponent.  Zaragoza is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Zaragoza lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Zaragoza is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head, DROPPING CARNS TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  
Zaragoza is looking to force the stoppage!  Zaragoza is on target with a MASSIVE left hook.  CARNS IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  
Zaragoza pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a forceful left uppercut.  Carns now seems to have his senses back.

Carns steps away from his opponent.  Zaragoza lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Carns steps away from his opponent.  Zaragoza lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.
