Jair Montealegre vs Gig Sarmiento

Boxing Daily Report from the ADR Boxing promoted show at UST Sports Centre, Manila,  taking place on 10/02/2024:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Philippines Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jair Montealegre (13 - 2) who hails from Quezon City, Philippines and Gig Sarmiento(14 - 0) from San Pablo, Philippines.  Both Montealegre and Sarmiento weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Francisco Santoyo, and the three ringside judges are Onofre Dimasalang, Rico Cabatingan and Federico Buhain.  

Round 1: 

Montealegre steps to the outside.  Sarmiento connects with an overhand right.
