Merrill Olin vs Gethin Owen

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at York Hall, London,  taking place on 12/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport UK, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Merrill Olin (16(9) - 0) who hails from Saint-Denis, France and Gethin Owen(3 - 6 - 1) from Swansea, UK.  Olin weighed in at 159 pounds and 12 ounces, while Owen weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Andrew McCargo, and the three ringside judges are Dominic Ready, Michael Kavanagh and Mark Rhind.  

Round 1: 

Olin tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a spiteful jab.

Olin lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Olin finds the target with a jab.  
Olin steps to the outside.  Olin feints a jab, tricking Owen into launching a cross counter.  Olin springs the trap, countering with  a FEARSOME right uppercut.  OWEN IS HURT!  
Olin sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Olin lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut, cross and a right uppercut to his opponents head, DROPPING OWEN TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Owen now seems to have his senses back.

Owen closes the distance.  Owen pivots to the left of his opponent.  Owen tries to land a right uppercut, but Olin slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Owen walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Owen sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Olin throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Olin ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Olin pushes his forearm into Owen's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Olin to stop fouling.  
Owen throws a left hook, but Olin holds on to his opponent.  Olin is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Olin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Olin lands a spiteful jab.  
Olin drives a ramrod jab into his opponents face.  
Olin lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Owen is looking to close the distance and lands a sharp right hook.  Olin clinches his opponent.  Olin leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Olin finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Owen is looking to close the distance.  Olin pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Olin is looking to keep his distance.  Owen attempts to land a jab, but Olin sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Olin connects with a sharp overhand left.  OWEN IS HURT!  
Owen now seems to have got his legs back.

Olin lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Olin tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  Owen recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Olin thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Owen away.  Olin lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND OWEN IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Owen now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Olin is looking to keep his distance and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Olin connects with a sharp overhand left.  
Owen connects with a left hook.  
Owen tries to land a right hook, but Olin slips the shot and counters with a potent cross.  OWEN IS HURT!

Owen closes the distance and walks Olin down, trapping him on the ropes.  Owen lands a left uppercut.  
Olin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a jab.
