Shehu Ehwareme vs Gerald Mekongo

Boxing Daily Report from the Simanansa Promotions promoted show at Bamenda Mayer, Bamenda,  taking place on 14/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Western African Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on CRTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shehu Ehwareme (11 - 3) who hails from Benin City, Nigeria and Gerald Mekongo(17(1) - 1) from Bamenda, Cameroon.  Both Ehwareme and Mekongo weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Olympe Abouna, and the three ringside judges are Jeremie Galliard, Ross Madjo and Hubert Breton.  

Round 1: 

Mekongo closes the distance and digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribs.
