Ingvar Matthiesen vs Glynn Donne

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Frank Gym, Manchester,  taking place on 26/01/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ingvar Matthiesen (1 - 0) who hails from Aarhus, Denmark and Glynn Donne(0 - 0) from Swords, Ireland.  Both Matthiesen and Donne weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Bonnar, and the three ringside judges are John McQuay, Owen Saunders and Bart McPhee.  

Round 1: 

Matthiesen closes the distance.  Matthiesen lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Matthiesen clinches his opponent.  Matthiesen is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Matthiesen to stop fouling.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Donne dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Matthiesen steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Matthiesen closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Matthiesen lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Matthiesen clinches his opponent.  Matthiesen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Matthiesen gets on the inside and digs in a sharp right hook to Donne's body.  Matthiesen clinches his opponent.  Matthiesen tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Donne behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Matthiesen about fouling.  
Matthiesen lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Donne tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a jab.  
Matthiesen advances into close range.  Matthiesen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Matthiesen cuts off the ring, trapping Donne on the ropes.  Donne digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Matthiesen closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Matthiesen pivots from in front of his opponent.  Donne attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Matthiesen to the neutral corner.  He warns Donne that he could be heading for a point deduction.  
Matthiesen advances into close range and digs in a left hook to Donne's ribs.  Matthiesen attempts to land a right hook, but Donne blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Matthiesen lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Donne is looking to keep his distance and tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Matthiesen gets on the inside.  Matthiesen pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matthiesen steps inside and forces Donne to back into the ropes.  Matthiesen lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Donne's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Donne's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Donne's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Donne switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Matthiesen digs in a stinging right hook to Donne's body.  
Matthiesen lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Matthiesen drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Matthiesen digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matthiesen hits home with a cross.  
Matthiesen gets on the inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matthiesen is on target with a cross.  
Matthiesen closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DONNE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.  
Matthiesen is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Matthiesen lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, a cross to the head and a left uppercut to the body, AND DOWN GOES DONNE!  He manages to get up at 8.  
Matthiesen slams a spiteful right uppercut into Donne's ribcage.  DONNE IS DOWN!  THE COUNT REACHES 10, BUT DONNE IS UNABLE TO GET UP!  The winner by KO is Matthiesen!
