Brad Kelty vs George Nino

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Rehman Shehata Gym, Los Angeles,  taking place on 05/03/2024:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Brad Kelty (2(1) - 0) who hails from Green Bay, USA and George Nino(5 - 9) from Paterson, USA.  Kelty weighed in at 134 pounds and 12 ounces, while Nino weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noel Bertram, and the three ringside judges are Joey Catherwood, Blake Travis and Dan Beatty.  

Round 1: 

Kelty pivots from in front of his opponent.  Nino throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Kelty holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Kelty pushes his forearm into Nino's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Kelty throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  Kelty is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Kelty's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kelty closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kelty closes the distance.  Nino quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kelty lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  Kelty is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Kelty's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Kelty digs in a solid right hook to his opponents body.  Kelty ties up his opponent.  Nino leans on his opponent using all his weight. Kelty is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kelty about fouling.

Kelty walks his opponent into the corner.  Kelty lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Kelty gets on the inside.  Nino pivots to the left of his opponent.  Kelty lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nino's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Nino's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Nino's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
