Roy Molony vs Rob Lyles

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at Octagon Theatre, Bolton,  taking place on 31/01/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Roy Molony (2 - 4) who hails from Tallaght, Ireland and Rob Lyles(1 - 2) from London, UK.  Both Molony and Lyles weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Robert Couper, and the three ringside judges are Glynn James, Kai Comrie and Sam McClenny.  

Round 1: 

Lyles lands a cross.  
Molony is on target with a jab.  
Molony advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  
Molony advances into close range.  Lyles sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Lyles steps to the outside.  Lyles sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Molony lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Molony finds the target with a jab.  
Lyles lands a cross.  
Lyles steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Molony closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but Lyles blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Lyles pivots to the right of his opponent and goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Molony's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Molony's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Molony's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
