Tobias Beatie vs David Young

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Pete Hanna Center, Birmingham,  taking place on 22/03/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Deep South Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Tobias Beatie (6 - 3) who hails from Huntsville, USA and David Young(13 - 2) from Knoxville, USA.  Both Beatie and Young weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joey Glasson, and the three ringside judges are Owen Leckie, Oliver Guilliams and Jonathan Reid.  

Round 1: 

Beatie circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Young finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Young is on target with a left hook.  
Young closes the distance.  Beatie throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Beatie attempts to land a cross, but Young slips the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents ribs.

Young walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Young pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Beatie dabs at his face checking for damage.
