Ashley Prior vs Hugh Stitt

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Pete Hanna Center, Birmingham,  taking place on 22/03/2024:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Deep South Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ashley Prior (12 - 2 - 4) who hails from Lexington, USA and Hugh Stitt(8 - 5 - 3) from Louisville, USA.  Both Prior and Stitt weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joey Glasson, and the three ringside judges are Owen Leckie, Oliver Guilliams and Jonathan Reid.  

Round 1: 

Stitt is on target with an overhand left.  
Stitt voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Prior is whaling away with hooks, but Stitt keeps his defence tight.  
Stitt closes the distance.  Prior connects with a right hook.  
Prior is on target with a cross to his opponents body.  
Stitt lands a cross.  
Stitt attempts to land a cross, but Prior sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

Stitt steps inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Prior has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
