Mick Malcom vs Cody Pinault

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Palmer Events Center, Houston,  taking place on 09/02/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Mick Malcom (3 - 0) who hails from Sacremento, USA and Cody Pinault(2 - 1) from Pittsburgh, USA.  Malcom weighed in at 174 pounds and 12 ounces, while Pinault weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Henry Messer, and the three ringside judges are Sid Hackney, Paul Mings and Sean Richards.  

Round 1: 

Malcom advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Malcom is looking to close the distance.  Malcom steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Pinault accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Malcom.  
Pinault pivots to the left of his opponent.  Malcom is on target with a left uppercut.  
Pinault pivots from in front of his opponent.  Malcom hits home with a left hook.  Malcom attempts to land a left hook, but Pinault blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Malcom digs in a left hook to Pinault's ribs.
