Jose Farias vs Alfonso Serna

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Jalisco promoted show at Rodrigo Olan Gym, Zapopan,  taking place on 04/03/2024:

Clearly AI Mexico-Jalisco have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Mexico-Jalisco Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jose Farias (3 - 1 - 3) who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico and Alfonso Serna(10 - 3 - 4) from Guadalajara, Mexico.  Farias weighed in at 121 pounds and 1 ounces, while Serna weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Enzo Hinojosa, and the three ringside judges are Miguel Alviso, Cuba Tiscareno and Jose Boda.  

Round 1: 

Farias strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Farias switches the action to the outside.  Farias quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a cross.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Farias has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused a slight cut  the right eye.  .

Serna walks his opponent into the corner.  Farias throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Serna feints a left, and then throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Serna advances into close range and walks Farias into a neutral corner.  Serna pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Farias's ribs.

Serna closes the distance.  Farias quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.
