Soo-il Shim vs Mitsuru Chiba

Boxing Daily Report from the Aidoo Promotions promoted show at Fukuyama Yagi, Fukuyama,  taking place on 01/03/2024:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Soo-il Shim (3 - 0) who hails from Daejeon, South Korea and Mitsuru Chiba(1 - 2) from Osaka, Japan.  Both Shim and Chiba weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Keiichi Nakata, and the three ringside judges are Satoru Fukuda, Goro Tengan and Jun Hironaka.  

Round 1: 

Chiba pivots to the side of his opponent.  Shim lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Shim forces Chiba to retreat into the corner.  Shim pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Shim sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Shim gets on the inside.  Shim pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Chiba's ribs.  
Shim closes the distance.  Shim quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Shim hits home with a left hook.  
Shim walks Chiba down, trapping him in the corner.  Shim pivots to the left of his opponent.  Shim throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Shim sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Chiba is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Chiba sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab to Shim's body.
